After an extensive search, Pilchuck Glass School is excited to share that Donna Davies will be joining the organization as its first Deputy Director this winter. The position, made possible through an investment in staffing by the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, will act as a key advisor to the Executive Director and support the overall organization, operations, and strategic priorities of the school.
After an international search, Pilchuck Glass School is excited to announce Benjamin Wright as its incoming Artistic Director.
"I am delighted to be joining the talented staff at Pilchuck Glass School as the next Artistic Director,” shares Wright, “and I am humbled by the fearlessly experimental creative lineage on whose shoulders we will together build the future programs of this important and inspiring nexus of the glass world.”
During the fall, Pilchuck invited six artists to campus as the 2018 Emerging Artists in Residence. Learn more about each of the artists: H Schenck, Liesl Schubel, Victoria Ahmadizadeh, Rebecca Szparagowski, Allyssa Burch, and Suyeon Kim, and their experience in this immersive residency.
Pilchuck Glass School begins the global search for its next Artistic Director. The organization is seeking a creative leader to shape and implement the next phase of the institution’s programming. The Artistic Director will set and lead the organization’s programmatic vision; represent the organization to its past, present, and prospective constituents; and manage interactions with an array of creative professionals on and off campus.
At the end of this year, Artistic Director Tina Aufiero will be leaving Pilchuck Glass School to continue her artistic practice after six years of service and creative foresight in advancing programs for the school.
Program leaders from Pilchuck Glass School and Hilltop Artists teamed up to plan a three-day, two-night retreat experience for thirty Hilltop students and staff. Supported by Pilchuck’s renowned glassmaking facilities and faculty, participants received housing, meals, instruction by professional artists, and an ample supply of glassmaking materials.
The Pilchuck Glass School board is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher R. Taylor as incoming Executive Director. After a six-month international search led by Arts Consulting Group in partnership with the Pilchuck Board of Trustees, Taylor was chosen to lead the school as it approaches its 50th anniversary (2021) and beyond.
