Attendees of this presentation will learn basic and necessary understanding of how public/civic art projects are generated and funded. They will get a clear overview of the major processes in public art phases, i.e. design, fabrication and installations. Attendees will also get in-depth knowledge on the history of the glass collection at SEA International Airport, as well as a revealing, first-ever presentation on the port's biggest public art investment to date, highlighting the new installation of Sabine Marcelis on the entry of arrivals drive at the airport.

About Tommy Gregory

Tommy Gregory is a Seattle-based artist and the Public Art Program Sr. Manager and Curator for the Port of Seattle. He earned his BFA from the University of Houston in 2005 and his MFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2009. Gregory oversees conservation, commissions and acquisition, as well as temporary art, specifically at SEA International Airport.

Gregory’s work and studio practice ranges from bronze and glass sculpture to drawing and collage. In the summer of 2022, Gregory was a resident at Pilchuck Glass School.
