The making of an object by pouring molten-glass into a mould has a long history. Core-formed cast vessels were first produced in Mesopotamia; early as the fifteenth century B.C. I discovered the process in 1969 whilst studying lost-wax bronze-casting. And began experimenting casting objects in glass. The knowledge I gained over the early years was through trial, error, and learning from failures. My presentation will endeavor to take the mystery out of what is a simple technical process and share knowledge I have gained through fifty years of studio practice. I will focus on multiple part investment mould-making and core-casting.
