Campus Assistant

For an intermediate to advance glass artist that thrives in variety, the Campus Support Assistant will help in different areas on campus. This role is recommended for glass art students in the last year of school, or emerging artists that help in public access spaces that have at least four (4) to five (5) sessions of experience on Summer Staff at Pilchuck. This role will be scheduled to rotate monitoring the studios as time off relief for other staff, assist year round staff and some administrative tasks in the main office.

Recommended Experience:

• You must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license, current car insurance, and a good driving record.
• Should be interested in glass and being an integral part of an art school community.
• Must be an excellent communicator.
• Must have 2 to 3 years’ experience in a variety of studios either on Seasonal Staff at Pilchuck or a similar educational environment.
• Must be a hard worker and good team player.
• A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and a good driving history.

General Outline Of Tasks:

• Rotates through different roles around campus (kitchen assistant, maintain assistant, cold shop, hot shop, driver, etc.)
• Must have a valid driver license, will assist with supply pick up or other campus participant shuttling as scheduled.
• Helps in the office with printing, scanning, greeting visitors and other projects.
• Monitors safe use of equipment and tools in different studios when scheduled.
• Event assistant for the student-to-student auction and the Print Party.
• Attends weekly staff meetings.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift 50 lbs and traverse the rugged campus.

Compensation:

• The Campus Assistant position requires a minimum four-session commitment.
• Campus Assistant may work up to but not more than 40 hrs. a week at $20 per hour.
• Designated studio time on days off and outside of work hours and program needs.
• Room and board while on campus.
