Storekeeper

This role is suitable for individuals at all experience levels in glass, including artists interested in learning about the medium or those who have a passion for art and excel in providing excellent customer service with integrity. Primarily working in the store, the Store Keeper may also be asked to assist in other areas of the campus depending on the session. In this position, you'll gain confidence and understanding in materials and supplies while becoming familiar with inventory management and product display.

Recommended Experience:

• Interest in glass art and commitment to being an integral part of an art school community
• Retail experience or a strong interest in retail is a plus
• Barista experience or a willingness to learn
• Ideally, 2 years of customer service experience; must be comfortable communicating with the public
• Cash handling experience preferred
• A valid driver's license is a plus

General Outline of Tasks:

• Stock and distribute supplies and materials around campus
• Operate the POS cash register system and address general merchandise inquiries
• Prepare espresso drinks to order
• Assist campus participants with shipping options at the end of the session
• Log all purchases and maintain accurate records of receipts
• Attend weekly staff meetings
• Maintain cleanliness of the store and ensure attractive product displays
• Pack and monitor online store orders
• Help track inventory
• Serve as cashier during the Student-to-Student Auction
• Reconcile daily sales

Compensation:

• The Store Keeper position requires a minimum half-season commitment; a full season commitment is preferred
• The Store Keeper may work up to, but not more than, 40 hours a week at $22 per hour
• Designated studio time is available on days off and outside of work hours and program needs
• Room and board provided while on campus
