Born in Tacoma, Washington, Jack Spitzer is a product of being raised in the Pacific Northwest glass scene. His early exposure to the medium - influenced by his grandmother's involvement with the Museum of Glass - led him to begin blowing glass at the age of twelve. Spitzer is apprentice to Dante Marioni, and on Dale Chihuly's glassblowing team. Spitzer is setting the standard for the younger generation of glass makers. His early connection to the material and its history has shaped a practice rooted in tradition, yet driven by innovation.
