Audio Visual / Librarian

The AV Coordinator serves as the campus historian, primarily based in the Library when not filming. Each session, they document key demonstrations, lectures, collaborations, and events for the archive through video. Typical hours for the AV Coordinator are from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, although these may be adjusted based on the schedule of classes and demonstrations. Flexibility is essential, as early mornings or late nights may be required to capture the best representation of the artists and classes on campus.

Recommended Experience:

  • Extensive knowledge of audio, video, and photographic techniques, processes, and equipment
  • Proficiency with Mac, Keynote, PowerPoint, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other creative A/V software
  • Familiarity with video cameras, production equipment, microphones, and projectors
  • A genuine interest in being an integral part of an art school community
  • Ability to sit, stand, and kneel for extended periods to capture video footage
  • Capability to type and edit on a computer for long durations

General Outline of Tasks:

  • Oversee and maintain organization and cleanliness of both campus libraries
  • Collaborate with the Artistic Director, Education and Outreach Supervisor, and instructors to compile a list of important demonstrations, performances, and events to document during the session. Communicate this information with the marketing team and coordinate, operate, and maintain all video and audio equipment on campus.
  • Process all recorded footage for archiving in the library by the end of each session
  • Catalog books, exhibition catalogs, campus video footage, and other materials into LibraryWorld
  • Coordinate library usage for class presentations
  • Organize equipment for presentations across campus
  • Document program lectures in collaboration with the Program Supervisor
  • Communicate directly with instructors, gaffers, and artists in residence regarding recording content
  • Oversee the beginning and end-of-session presentations
  • Assist participants with computer and creative program inquiries while using library computers
  • Attend scheduled weekly staff meetings and the opening program meeting
  • Manage cleanup of AV areas in the lodge at the end of each session

Compensation:

  • The AV Coordinator position requires a minimum commitment of four sessions, with a full season commitment preferred
  • May work up to 40 hours per week at a rate of $20 per hour
  • Room and board provided while on campus
