The Cold Shop is a studio resource shared by all campus participants on a walk-in basis. The Cold Shop is run by the Cold Shop Coordinator in coordination with the Cold Shop Assistant. Studio hours generally run from 8 AM to 11 PM with breaks for meals, events, and artist presentations. The coordinator will stagger their schedule with the assistant to make sure active hours are covered. The coordinators give orientations, monitor the studio, and provide guidance for projects; assist with studio upkeep and repair, and help the cold shop assistant and fellows increase their knowledge in running the Cold Shop. If their other duties allow, the Cold Shop Coordinator Is encouraged to assist the AAs with coldworking the Artist in Residence’s work as needed.
