Our two hot glass studios are organized, maintained, and monitored each session by a Hot Shop & Annex Coordinator and two Hot Shop & Annex Assistants with the cooperation of the Instructors and TAs. In general, the shops are active from 6 AM to 12 AM, though the schedule for each session is determined at the program meeting. Hot Shop & Annex Coordinator and Assistants will stagger their schedules to make sure active hours are covered. Two classes share the main Hot Shop for the session along with Gaffers who craft objects for the Artists in Residence (AiR) and Instructors. Other classes will share use of the Annex and will require communication and balancing needs to schedule use appropriately for the session. The Hot Shop & Annex Coordinator and Hot Shop & Annex Assistant host the session cup exchange and other all campus events in the Hot Glass Studios.
